The Role

Our Solution Architect is part of a growing architecture capability at Pepperstone. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into cohesive, pragmatic and value-driven solutions. You will drive the technical direction of our value streams by balancing business goals with sound architecture principles, patterns and pragmatic design, ensuring safe, aligned value delivery in a fast-moving dynamic environment.

You will lead technical discovery workshops, facilitate collaborative design sessions, drive critical architecture decisions, and use your hard-earned collaborative skills to enable others via mentorship and guidance.

As part of the broader Enterprise Architecture team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our current and target state architectures, principles, patterns and processes as we grow our capability and influence.

This position reports to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, Melbourne Australia. Our team is made up of individuals from all walks of life, each bringing unique experiences and perspectives that enrich our work and culture.

What You'll Be Doing

Architecture & Design

• Create solutions that meet business needs and align to strategic direction
• Lead architecture discovery for new or proposed initiatives
• Perform Architecture Impact Assessments to ascertain architectural significance and impact
• Drive key architecture decisions at solution and enterprise level
• Develop architecture patterns, principles and other guardrails
• Contribute to current and target state architecture development and roadmaps

Collaboration

The Solution Architect will work closely with:

• Engineering teams to guide technical implementation
• Product Managers to align with product vision
• Business stakeholders to guide decision-making and elicit requirements
• Other architects to ensure alignment

About You

Experience

• 8+ years software development experience
• 5+ years architecture experience, ideally within banking or fintech
• Experience within CFD and/or Crypto highly desirable
• Proven track record of architecting valuable solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Experience driving difficult architecture decisions to an agreed outcome

Technical skills

• Cloud-native application and infrastructure design
• Architecture modeling and capability mapping
• C4 modeling
• Domain Driven Design
• UML (sequence and class diagrams)
• Integration architecture, Event-driven and API designs
• Security and compliance by design
• Generative AI

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science, engineering, or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience
• AWS Developer or Architect
